The black and white gives it kind of a noire look, which should work, but the noire style shots don't even show up until the 3rd act (Maybe forgivable given the difficulty of shooting the scenes inside the park) which all takes place NOT inside Disney. All the "plot" happens on cheap sets and in hotel rooms or against cheap green screens. Speaking of Buzz (get it?) for all the time and, I'm certain, budget that went in to filming inside Disney, nothing important happens there at all. ![]() When I heard about this ambitious project, I expected a dedicated, scrappy band of young creatives working toward a unified vision, not a guy who thinks liking Eraserhead makes him deep and whatever Syfy channel special business extras he thought had enough credits to attract some buzz. Lynch uses a lot of wooden acting and low-budge production, but he also uses things like forethought and intention and does so out of creative choice to realize a vision, whereas Moore seems to have sacrificed everything in service of sneak-shooting inside Disney. Maybe someone who had once heard that there's more to acting than just saying the lines and following the stage directions would have elevated this heap to somewhere between the trash it is and, say, an episode of Big Bang Theory. (Really though, what is this mattress sale commercial actor doing propping up an indie horror flick?) His depthless mugging in the green screen and fantasy sequences make them just feel fully cardboard and out of place. From the first shot of even-lower-rent and even-less-interesting Ray Romano, I knew I was in for a stinker.
